Why I Started 1stKickSoccer: A Coach's Journey

It started with watching my six-year-old daughter's first soccer season. The coach was nice enough, but something was missing—the energy, the encouragement, the spark that makes kids fall in love with the game. They won half their games, but more importantly, they weren't having fun.

After one parent mentioned the kids could use more positivity and direction, I decided to step up. The next season, I took over as coach.

Same kids. Different approach. Completely different results.

We focused on making practice fun first, skills second. We celebrated effort over perfection. We built confidence alongside technique. That year we finished second place. The year after? First.

I fell in love with coaching—not because of the wins, but because I got to watch kids discover what they were capable of. The "aha" moments. The breakthrough passes. The first time they beat a defender one-on-one. That's the magic.

Over the past five years, I've coached rec teams, club teams, and worked one-on-one with young athletes. Every experience has taught me the same lesson: leadership and development start with the right attitude and a genuine desire to help kids grow.

That's why I created 1st Kick Soccer.

You don't need to be a soccer expert to be a great coach for your kid. You just need to show up, make it fun, and give them the tools to succeed. You're already doing the hardest work as a parent—coaching is just an extension of that.

Whether your child has never touched a ball or they're looking to level up their skills, I'm here to help you guide them. Let's make soccer something you do together, not something you watch from the sidelines.

Welcome. Let's get started.
